Big Youth – Walsall

Big Youth Version 7

Over the last few months I have had the privilege of meeting numerous heroes who are working week in and week out to pursue the next generation.  It was great to meet a number of these at Big Youth in Walsall on a cold Friday night in February!

Big Youth has been running for a number of years now with an aim to bring youth groups together from a number of churches and denominations across the Walsall borough.

The evenings have themes and this month it was ‘Games in the Dark’.  After much fun and games, there was an opportunity for the young people, who represented six Walsall Churches, to speak affirming words over each other and then a time for everyone to listen to what God had to say to them.  At the end of the night one of the leaders gave a picture to the teenagers about a caged animal being released.  It was a really beautiful moment and there was a real sense of the presence of God in the room.

We believe that God blesses times of church unity and it was so great to see the teenagers from different churches being encouraged to get to know each other.  Please pray that this would continue to grow and we would see much fruit in the months to come from this fabulous opportunity for teenagers to join together and have a revelation of a God who loves them so much.

These young people are the community leaders of tomorrow. They are the ones who will ultimately partner with us in seeing our region transformed. The relational links between them as a generation are an essential part of the foundations on which God wants to build His kingdom here. Let’s believe for more of these relational connections being made within the next generation across the Black Country in the months and years to come. Who knows how God may use them in the future…
