Love Black Country Families has a vision to equip the Black Country Church to deal with the needs of vulnerable families by linking individuals in congregations with the experts ready to help them. In doing so, we believe we can see hundreds of families impacted and lives changed across our region.
Love Black Country Families is administrated by Love Black Country and Transforming Communities Together and is an initial collaboration of 4 national charities who each work with families in different ways.
This is the first time these charities have ever agreed to work together on an initiative of this kind and their partnership is truly ground-breaking.
12,000 Black Country children were officially defined as “in need” in 2015. Social Services are under increasing pressure as they try to address this problem. Churches are currently doing their best to serve struggling families in their communities but the need is too great for individual congregations to tackle alone.
God has given people in your congregation gifts and abilities to contribute to a solution to this problem but they often don’t know how they can help.
Our vision is for each Black Country Church to have a Families Champion who connects people with the charities best-placed to support families in need.
Love Black Country Families will train and equip Families Champions to become the main point of contact between your church and our partner charities.
Children and families in the Black Country receive the support and care that God desires for them through the Black Country Church being mobilised and equipped to respond.
To get your church involved with Love Black Country Families, church leaders need to identify a Families Champion. This person should be someone with a heart for children and families.
Email their details to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll get in touch with them about our next training day.
